‘Animal’ is the 2003 sinister, black comedy by British playwright Kay Adshead. Adshead has written a round 15 very successful and memorable plays, along with award winning performance poetry. As co-founder of the woman-led Mama Quilla Theatre Company (named after the Inca moon goddess), which spotlights human rights issues not surprisingly her topics are often fearlessly confronting in tackling the world’s problems. Kay is also a well-known UK actor, and has appeared in a huge variety of parts and genres, from Catherine Earnshaw in ‘Wuthering Heights’ to the frivolity of ‘One Foot in the Grave’.
‘Fat Pig’ is another play about cold-hearted men from the controversial American playwright, Neil LaBute - who has just turned 50. This confrontational play, which is presented by Ali van Reeken and Benj D’Addario’s award winning production company, Red Ryder Productions, is showing in the main theatre at the Blue Room, 53 James Street, Northbridge. The 75-minute performances begin at 7.00 pm nightly until Saturday 8th June.

MONOLOGUE. NIGHT; when put together in a sentence, these two words can turn a group of actors into nervous wrecks. The actors who stepped onto the stage of our New York Theatrette were anything but.
‘Playhouse Creatures’ is a bawdy but well-researched and beautifully scripted play, based on a 350-year tale. It was written twenty years ago by a 30-year old English dramatist, April de Angelis, and is now being brought to life by HIVE (Her Infinite Variety Ensemble) for Class Act Theatre. The play is being presented at the new Guild Studio, 123 Claisebrook Road, at the corner of Claisebrook and Somerville (near Claisebrook Train Station), East Perth.
