Following on from the recent success of our double bill productions of Shakespeare's Macbeth and Julius Caesar, Upstart Theatre Company, in conjunction with Packenham Street Art Space, is presenting A Midsummer Night's Dream as part of the 2013 Perth Fringe Festival. We are seeking a dynamic, committed and talented costumier to join our production team.

‘The Ash Girl’ by the New York born, contemporary playwright, Lael Timberlake Wertenbaker. Winner of an Olivier Best Play award, Wertenbaker now lectures in creative writing in the University of East Anglia. The Harbour Theatre is presenting the Australian Premiere of her 2000 pantomime, which may be considered a blend of ‘Cinderella’ and ‘The Hobbit’. This production can be seen at the Harbour Theatre in the Port Cineaste Building, 70 Adelaide Street, Fremantle on a Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights at 8.00 pm until the 15th December, with Sunday Matinees on the 2nd and 9th December at 2.00 pm.

‘How to Make a Masterpiece’ is a zany comedy by young WA playwright, Scott McArdle. As well as being a Murdoch student, Scott is a technician in Murdoch’s Nexus Theatre. This premiere is being mounted by Second Chance Theatre and is their third production. It is being presented in the Murdoch University Drama Workshop 100-seat theatre (a good rake), opposite car park 4, Murdoch University, 90 South Street, Murdoch.

‘Scrooge - The Musical’ is a seasonal presentation by the Melville Players. The music and lyrics by James Leisy were based on the 1843 Dickens story, which only took Charles two months to write. It is being presented at the Melville Theatre, on the corner of Stock Road and Canning Highway, Palmyra. The show is 100 minutes long, and can be seen on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays at 8.00 pm until 1st December. There is one matinee on Sunday 25th November at 2.00 pm, which is almost fully booked.
