Bottle Shock is hugely entertaining and has scored big at Sundance and the Film Festival circuit.
The story centres on the 1976 Judgement of Paris, when a British wine-shop owner operating in France (played by Alan Rickman with impeccable dry snobbery) organised a blind taste-test pitting French wines against Californian up-and-comers.
It’s based on the true story that put New World Wines on the European wine map. Bottle Shock features a great ensemble cast including Bill Pullman, Chris Pine, Freddy Rodríguez and Australian Rachael Taylor who all delight in this warm, sunny charmer.
This film's a winner! And not just for oenophiles (a pretentious word for wine-loving booze hounds).
