Talking to a friend the other day she mentioned that she had had a conversation with a director or musical director who was commenting about how difficult it was to get a pit band together for a music theatre producation. Funnily enough, I've got a semi regular pit band looking for shows to do.
To a fair degree I can understand why this is a problem but that is a discussion for another day and its own thread.
However, I have put together bands for several shows and I've got to the poitn where I have good crew of good players people and who enjoy this type of playing.
These are the people that I used for Melville Theatre and "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum", that I am using at the moment for Playlovers "Spamalot" (Bookings through Playlovers' website and tickets are selling fast)and are the players that I intend to use for 'Candide' with Playlovers next year.
From my point of view it would be good if I had a way to keep them together via other productions. Which in other words means that this group is available to play for productions in Perth.
So, if you want a pit band for a music theatre production then contact me via this forum or via Facebook. (As far as I know I am the only David Hardie in Perth on Facebook)
Regards to all,
David.
