LaSalle Singapore

Hey just wondering if anyone knows anything about the LaSalle course in Singapore for Musical theatre. I read their web-page but was wanting a little more information. Anyone going there next year? Does anyone know what the course is like and whether its worth going for? Any opinions / insights welcome.

Cheers!

I read about CODA but it doesn't actually say where it is? Or can I just not read.

Anyone know where it is?

Thanks. I have actually been offered a place there next year but I'm having a really hard time deciding whether I should go or not. I've read the pamphlet, talked to students, read the website and talked to family and friends about what they think. About 99% of me is saying GO DO IT NOW! I just have to convince that last 1% of me.

I just thought maybe if I threw this subject out there I would get some insights of others who don't really know me and are willing to put both the positives and negetives out there bluntly.

Thanks for the input. Anyone else out there know anything about this place?

Nah I auditioned in Perth with a friend of mine. She's got nothing keeping her here so she has done the last bit of covincing for me. I'm gonna give it a go and see what happens. If nothing else i get the experience of living in a new country and I get to help a friend out. She doesn't want to go by herself.

Should be good.

ANYONE OUT THERE

Hey all!

I am thinking about doing Music Theatre at LaSalle. I have heard from only a couple of people how much better it is than WAAPA. More importantly does anyone think/know if it's as good as the same type of course in the USA like at Michigan or CCM (which are way better than WAAPA)?

Let's not have any more of this "(Name of institution here) is so much better than (name of institution here)!"
It's stupid and pointless. In the end it's the student who decides what they get out of the course, and yes, whilst some courses can have better lecturers or better structures, or whatever, it still comes down to the determination of the aspiring performer. It's ridiculous to sit there saying that there are schools out there better than WAAPA- sorry, Paz, but you wouldn't know unless you'd been to all three, would you? If you actually have, I'd love to hear reasons as to why they are better than WAAPA.
I don't know why "better than WAAPA" should be on the criteria for a good performing arts school. WAAPA is great. Other schools are great too. Shocking, I know!
Everyone needs to get over it. Sometimes I wonder if the people who post around here have personal vendettas against WAAPA becasue a lot of posts seems primarily concerned with defaming the school. Are there just a lot of embittered ex-auditionees or what?

i am currently studying musical theatre at waapa and i have noticed that aswell what do people have against waapa i have only been there for a short time but i can already see that it is the place i want to be and can it really be that bad look at the people that have come out of that place some very talented people and if your bitter cause your not there dont rag the institution if you cant get into to waapa try elsewhere but if your attitude stinks to start with and your gonna rag them for not accepting you maybe thats the reason behind them not wanting you they want people the are going to stick by there institution. whether it be waapa la salle or any other company if you dont put the effort in you will get nothing out of it and anyone planning on going to lasalle it is definatley worth while i did a short course there and it was fantastic i have also done the waapa masterclass very different but both as good as each other just different methods............................ goodluck guys CAL
