Seeking Singing Teacher for fairly experienced MT performer; quite urgent (Perth)

MusicalMum | 10/01/2010 - 22:35

Hopefully some of you gurus out there can make some suggestions. I am WAAPA trained (musical theatre) and have a reasonable amount of performance experience. I am looking for someone who is preferably tertiary qualified in singing teaching (or some relevant sort of training in teaching singing) and has a reasonable number of years of experience post-qualification in teaching musical theatre technique.

Sadly finances are not plentiful, so can probably only afford one lesson every 2-3 weeks, depending on fee; but would do lots of homework in between! So need someone who is not going to be adverse to that arrangement. Happy to travel anywhere for the 'right fit'.

Have read here to try calling WAAPA, which I will try (my time there was loonngg ago!). Not sure that I will reach anyone this time of year though and would like to try and get going ASAP (before end of Jan), as I have a callback and another audition coming up in early Feb. All thoughts and suggestions gratefully accepted!

Please private message me if you feel that more appropriate. Thank you so much!! Smiling

I've been in touch with Terry Burridge and am meeting with her end of the week, so will see how that goes. She was lovely on the phone and very accommodating.

Had also rung Ian and left message on his voicemail. He hasn't called back as yet.

What is Susan's Secret?

Michael Parker & Susan Parker

David Heckingbottom

Cider Mill Inn is an old, rustic country inn owned by an endearing elderly couple, Michael and Susan Edwards. At first they appear to be bordering on senility. We quickly learn however that they are very clever con artists, preying on their unsuspecting guests. Using an elaborate check-in form, guests are, in fact, signing a work contract, requiring them to perform various improvements at the inn. Plumbers, tile layers, carpenters and electricians are recruited to do work they never expected. But what is Susan's secret?
