"Theatre Nepean's latest production, WIDOWS, invites the audience to engage in a global tale of a post-colonial predicament.

In this tightly militarised country, a woman waits, keeping constant vigil by the bend in the river, and a recently appointed Captain promises a new beginning if the people agree to forget the past. His attempts to enact his idyllic vision are complicated by the strange and unexpected offerings made by the murmuring waters.

Dorfmans’ play translates across all borders, in a world where the constant violation of human rights is not addressed.
