Panther Productions is a Sydney, London and Los Angeles based theatre and film Production Company.

The team at Panther is a dynamic, young group of individuals with enviable global entertainment and management experience and a flair for supporting the performing arts. Over the years the team have built up significant experience working across the world in the US, Europe and across Australasia and have worked with key industry names such as American Zoetrope, 20th Century Fox, Merchant Ivory Productions and the National Film And Television School (Great Britain).

Panther invests in and showcases fresh and original productions with a current emphasis on new and rising talented writers, directors and actors in Sydney.

Panther has chosen Sydney as its Australian base because it has a cultured, affluent audience but an hugely underdeveloped performing arts market compared to major international cities of a similar global stature.

"Australia and Sydney in particular, has a wealth of unpublished scripts and screenplays floating around. Far too many Sydney based writers and directors cannot get their excellent work produced because there are not many independent venues or channels of funding available.

The theatre market is dominated by a very small number of established theatre companies who mainly favour selective in house production and film is predominately limited to state or Government funded works" says Carlos Quaderi, MD of Panther Productions.

This has effectively resulted in a creative stranglehold on and exodus from the Sydney performing arts market because most writers, directors and actors cannot afford to fund productions themselves. There is therefore a substantial community of disenfranchised yet highly creative and motivated writers, directors and actors who cannot get funding for original and exciting work.

Panther aims to break this current stranglehold by significantly investing in this market and supporting the production of new performing works in both theatre and film whilst also securing new performance venues. The company is starting to work in collaboration with innovative actors, writers and directors and invest in the best of their scripts and screenplays.

By reaching out to this talent pool, Panther has a unique capacity to successfully produce home-grown Australian plays and films and even export the best of them overseas to the US & Europe.
