Mackay Musical Comedy Players Inc. is a local, amateur theatre group founded in 1965 by Jack Sturgeon, Lynette Denny and committee. The aims and ideals of this cultural group are still relevant today:

- To perform musical theatre for the benefit and enjoyment of members and the Mackay community.
- Foster and showcase the talents of local students and members of the Mackay community.
- Mackay residents see their local amateur theatre company on stage produce QUALITY MUSICAL THEATRE.

2005 will be our 40th year of operations, with our organisation having a long history of providing training and development opportunities to hundreds of talented people within the community. This has enabled some of our members to go onto professional acting and singing careers with the arts and entertainment industry.

To celebrate this milestone year, we will be staging "My Fair Lady" at the Mackay Entertainment Centre in May 2005 under the direction of a professional director.

UPCOMING SHOWS FOR 2004

"A LITTLE BIT OF THIS AND THAT"
A free concert at the Mackay Entertainment Centre on Sunday, 22nd August at 2.00 p.m.

"ROBIN THE HOOD"
A fun filled theatre restaurant held at the Ocean International Hotel on Friday and Saturday nights on 19th & 20th November, 26th & 27th November, and 3rd & 4th December.



UPCOMING SHOWS FOR 2005

"SNOW WHITE GOES WEST"
A pantomime full of laughter and mayhem to be staged in January. (Venue and dates to be confirmed)

"MY FAIR LADY"
This well-known, classic musical will be staged at the Mackay Entertainment Centre from Wednesday, 18th May to Saturday, 21st May.

"40TH CELEBRATION & REUNION WEEKEND"
We will be holding celebrations for our 40th Anniversay over the weekend, Friday, 19th to Sunday, 21st August. (Further details to be confirmed at a later date)


Our rehearsals are conducted at The Jack Sturgeon Workshop, Lamb Street, Mackay.

New performers and offstage workers are always welcome!
