Vitalstatistix fosters, produces and promotes new, high quality live performance that is driven by Australian women artists seeking to engage and expand their audiences, in order to contribute to the development of an Australian culture.
Vitalstatistix was established in South Australia in 1984, as Australia's only full time women's theatre company. In recent years the company has embraced a national role, attracting Australias best and freshest theatre artists through initiatives like the National Call, as well as working with South Australias finest actors, directors, independent and emerging artists. The Company is committed to developing and promoting the creative practice of women theatre artists by providing employment and professional development opportunities, including mentorship schemes, skills development workshops, and community cultural development projects.
Based at Waterside Hall in the historic precinct of Port Adelaide, Vitalstatistix has become a vital and persuasive advocate for women and women's issues, presenting and producing theatre that is dynamic, ideas based, innovative in form and content, with wide audience appeal.
