Opera North is a Mackay based organisation that exists to explore creative and fulfilling opportunities for voice, music and movement on the stage and in the community.

Mission
Opera north's mission is to contribute to the vitality of the community by:
a) Stimulating and developing interest in the performing arts in general, and music in particular
b) Providing opportunities for performing artists so they too can grow and develop in our community

Objectives
Opera North is committed to the following objectives:
• Develop audiences for the performing arts through initiating innovative and challenging projects
• Provide a wide range of opportunities for regional artists through its audience development plan
• Initiate and commission new works, new modes of presentation that challenge and excite regional composers, writers and performers
• Assist the development of acoustic music in the region
