Whilst a small theatre, the Brook has nevertheless built up a reputation as a centre of excellence in the artistic community. It has always been an independent theatre, relying on the support of its members, its audiences and the sponsorship of the local business community to continue its activities. The Brook holds regular play readings and encourages the submission of original scripts for readings and workshops. The Brook Community Theatre Inc. was founded in 1987 by Seamus Rothsey.
