Armpit Plays is a WA based initiative designed primarily to promote new and unpublished works for Community and Amateur Theatre groups across Australia and New Zealand.

Armpit Plays sources Australian and NZ unpublished authors and allows their work to be found and performed. Armpit Plays supports Local and Community performances.
Most of our authors have very reasonable performing rights charges and in many cases authors have stipulated that certain works do not carry a rights fee at all if for Charity or Community Theatre performance.

As we all know Performing Rights is an expensive item, and now that the Copyright Law has been extended from 50 to 70 years finding contemporary works that are AFFORDABLE to perform is an exhausting search.

We supply full synopses for every play we have online, this includes running times, last dates performed and extracts from the work , all designed to make the choice of play the right one for your next project.

ARMPIT SEEKS WA BASED AUTHORS

We are currently seeking new authors and those that have had plays performed but never published. Note, we act as agents for the author in regards to performing rights. We do not purchase rights leaving the author free to publish with whomever they please if we discover a rip snorting success!

Armpit Plays will also arrange readings and amateur and professional productions of works on commission.
