Big of heart and body, courageous, stubborn, visionary, often difficult and always a staunch Western Australian our first premier Sir John Forrest led a reluctant WA into the Federation in 1901.
Perhaps today almost forgotten Sir John steps down from his monument in Kings Park to take centre stage in a very contemporary story about the extraordinary characters and drama that surrounded the birth of our nation.
