NIDA will be in Perth at Penrhos College Performing Arts Centre, Thelma Street, Como from the 4 - 10 July. Discover your potential by working with the world’s best as we present short courses for adults and young people to develop confidence and creativity in the performing arts.

Weekly Courses run from Monday 4 July to Friday 8 July and include Acting 16+, Acting for Stage and Screen 12-15 yrs, Building a Character 16+, Directing Theatre 16+, Screen Acting 16+.

A Tuesday to Thursday evening course, Auditions and Screen Tests, is also available.

Weekend courses running from Saturday 9 to Sunday 10 July are Acting Intensive 16+, Acting to Camera 12-15 yrs, Directing Intensive 16+, Shakespeare Made Easy 15+, TV Presenting Intensive 16+.

Acting 16+

Identify and experience the essentials of acting.

Acting for Stage and Screen

12-15 years

Develop your acting skills by creating characters based on heroes, heroines and villains.

Building a Character 16+

Explore physical, vocal and imaginative factors that allow you to get inside a character’s skin.

Directing a Theatre 16+

Stimulate your imagination and find out how to locate the right kinds of material. Develop a concept with a creative team.

Screen Acting 16+

Discover your individual screen presence.

Tuesday to Thursday evenings 5 to 7 July 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

Auditions and Screen Tests 16+

Find out how best to prepare for stage auditions and screen tests and practice in mock castings.

Saturday & Sunday 9 & 10 July 11:00 am – 5:00 pm

Acting Intensive 16+

Develop your acting skills including improvisation, voice and movement and gain confidence rehearsing and performing short scenes.

Acting to Camera 12-15 years

Discover your on screen presence and experiment with scene work from film and TV scripts.

Directing Intensive 16+

Stimulate your imagination and gain skills by which to get the best out of actors and a script.

Shakespeare Made Easy 15+

Practical methods by which to understand and perform Shakespeare plays and sonnets.

TV Presenting Intensive 16+

Practise on screen skills for working as a television presenter. Consider styles such as lifestyle and chat shows.
