In the tradition of Trainspotting "a barbarous, compassionate, shocking, hilarious and prophetic experience".
Robbie and Lulu used to be lovers but now Robbie is in love with Mark. When Mark leaves their shared bed-sit and takes up with a masochistic rent boy, Robbie and Lulu fall foul of a vicious drug lord and must make a lot of money VERY fast!
Premiering at Londons Royal Court in 1996, followed by an international tour in 1997, Shopping and F***ing has been a runaway success the world over.
Shopping and F***ing is a play about the "blank generation" .young no-hopers, whose pitiful existence revolves around buying and selling sex and drugs and eating pilfered microwave noodles just to survive. Where money is the root of all evil and everything can be bought or sold, even people. Life is merely a series of transactions and everything, and everyone, is just another commodity.
