Human Resources
by Chris Aronsten
All our operators are busy right now
Human Resources is a three-part look at the psychology, graft and sexual politics of working in an office. In Daves Lunchtime Dos and Donts, Steven revels in his easy manipulation of a lonely, sexually frustrated, wealthy older man until his plan goes horribly wrong. In Brian Meets His Match a pack of office workers all use the same internet dating service. Their obsessive rules of engagement are challenged by the arrival of the new boy plain old Brian. In Fionas Functions we discover how an older and near-untrainable box office worker deals with the encroachment of technology and her seemingly pre-pubescent new boss.
When youre having the humanity modernised out of you can you fight back?
In the manufactured world of Internet dating can we make meaningful connections?
And in the real world, what happens when get what we ask for?
These characters are funny, tragic and very human.
Human Resources is a clever, ferocious, pithy new Australian play full of dark humour that packs a punch where it hurts.
Featuring Josef Ber, Thomas Campbell and Lorna Lesley, and ensemble - Nathin Butler, Julian Dibley-Hall, Suz Mawer, Scarlett McGlynn and Alexandria Steffensen.
