The year is 1969, in a day room in a ward of a State Mental Hospital, somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. A Mental Institution ruled by the Big Nurse on behalf of the all-powering 'Combine'. Into this terrifying grey world comes McMurphy, a brawling, gambling man, who wages total war on behalf of his cowered fellow inmates. What follows is at once hilarious and heroic, tragic and ultimately liberating.
