5th National Stage Combat Event

Various

If you are involved in the performance arts industry there is a good chance that you will come across a script or project that will involve an element of Stage Combat. This can range from slipping on a banana skin as a clown or waging war against the English as Joan of Arc.

If you would like to prepare yourself for the inevitable then register for the 5th national Stage Combat Workshop!

The Basic Certification Workshop will introduce you to the elements of Stage Combat. In this Workshop you will gain proficiency in Unarmed Stage Combat as well as the use of the Sword and Dagger. The Basic Stage Combat Workshop gives you the Grounding necessary to work with professional Fight Directors in the industry.

Remember, regardless of the ability of your Director, Choreographer or fellow Actors, how well you look in performance depends on your preparation and skills.

Already done your Basic training?

GREAT! Your local State SAFDi Workshop is also offering certification in Intermediate Stage Combat. In the Intermediate course you will be able to take the knowledge that you have gained in the Basic training and expand. Expand to THREE different weapon styles. Expand to a more historically correct performance. Expand your employment potential in the performance industry.

We guarantee that these Workshops will break down your perceptions of what Stage Combat really is, as well as stretch your boundaries and give you valuable tools you can use in the Performance industry. Or we’ll give you your insecurity back!

Ion Nibiru presents Frank McGuiness' award-winning play SOMEONE WHO'LL WATCH OVER ME, based on the true story of Brian Keenan, an Irish writer held captive in Lebanon. Locked up in a room, an Englishman, an Irishman and an American unlock doors to the illusionary world where truth and faith are a matter of perspective. The possibilities are endless.
