"In the worlds before Monkey! primal chaos ruled". The same 'primal chaos' is set to hit the Town Hall Theatre stage as CTG Inc present this whacky, zany comedy for only the second time in Australia and first time on the east coast.

Based on the original TV series 'Monkey!' (or 'Monkey Magic' as some know it), our show finds Monkey, Pigsy, Sandy and Triptaka somewhere on their holy pilgrimmage to India. They are tired and hungry and, after Pigsy eats Tripitaka's horse, cut down to three when the pig-spirit is banished.

Pigsy is not alone for long as he falls into the arms of a Spirit Demon's Daughter. However, her father, a Spirit Demon, is an evil creature who has cursed the monks of a local monastery and regularly visits to feed upon them.

When Monkey, Sandy and Triptaka come across the monastery, the monks plead with them to help defeat the demon. Things come to a head when the Spirit Demon abducts Tripitaka - will Monkey be able to save them? And will Pigsy overcome his bitterness and help save his master?

This production is full of laughs, music and the nostalgia of the original TV series, including 'special effects' like the 'flying cloud'.

Matinees are also being held on the Saturdays at 2pm.
