Alan Becher from the stories by Tom Hungerford

Susan Lynch

As part of the South Perth Fiesta we present Stories From Suburban Road from the autobiographical book by South Perth author Tom Hungerford, of his childhood in south Perth between the two wars (1914-18 and 1939-45)

Suburban Road, now Mill Point Road, was almost country. these were the days before the Narrows Bridge was even thought of, when Como Beach was a holiday spot, when taking the ferry to town was an expedition and south of Canning Highway was still bush!

The Windsor Hotel was there and so was the building which now houses the Old Mill Theatre!

"Stories..." had its premiere at this theatre and so we are delighted to be able to present it again.

Director Susan Lynch (Out of Order and Travelling North)will direct this nostalgic look at life in a gentler time.

Sunday February 8th and 15th will be Matinee shows at 2 pm
