WA State Drama Festival

Walter Plinge | 27/09/2001 - 23:27

DramaFest 2001 commences Friday night, September 28. Once again at the very popular Harbour Theatre (Cantonment St, Fremantle), right next door to the even more popular Clancy's Pub!

Some early publicity material advertised the original program before one or two changes were made. The sequence of plays has remained unchanged since that one early rearrangement, but just to remind everyone, Friday's productions are:

"Parentcraft", a comedy directed by Joy Northover (Kalamunda Dramatic Society - KADS);

"Truth & Consequences", a drama directed by Veronica Turner (Backstreet Theatre Company);

"They're Playing Our Song", a comedy directed by Geoff Leeder (Melville Theatre).

The Festival will be officially opened by the Mayor of Fremantle, Mr Peter Tagliaferri. Adjudication will be presented by Dr Geoff Gibbs, former head of the WA Academy of Performing Arts.

Sessions commence on Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 10 AM, 2 PM and 8 PM; and Sunday at 10 AM and 2 PM. Each session will present three plays (Tickets $10/$8 per session). Hope to see you there.

Jarrod Buttery,

President, ITA.
