It's here: despite all threats, despite all cries for mercy, despite all financial expectations, Blak Yak Theatre (Perth) present the sixth in their series of highly popular Terry Pratchett plays. From the people who brought you Mort, Guards! Guards!, Wyrd Sisters, Maskerade and Sourcery (and from the director of two of those) comes the no-differently dyslexic Hogfather. I'd give you a brief description of the plot, but, I don't think anyone really knows what the plot is....
But it doesn't matter! People don't follow Terry Pratchett because of the plots, they come along for the jokes, the puns, the characters. All we know for sure this time around, is that the special time of year that all children look forward to is fast approaching. All the little boys and girls know that, if they've been good, the Hogfather will visit them in the night bearing gifts. But this year, no one seems to know where the Hogfather is, and there'll be chaos if someone doesn't fill his shoes. Someone ill-suited to uttering, "Ho, Ho, Ho!" Someone normally seen riding a horse and carrying a bloody big scythe. Someone best described as a seven-foot-tall skeleton with eyes of piercing blue wrapped in a cloak of absolute darkness possessing a voice deeper than the grave. Be good.... for goodness' sake....
For the first time, we will be performing at the Nexus Theatre in the grounds of Murdoch University (just off South St - practically bordering the Freeway - a ten-minute drive from the Narrows Bridge). Our booking number is the same: 0500-52-52-59 (cost of a local call) and our ticket prices are the same: $14 adults, $12 concession. (How can we keep this up when the cost of everything else is increasing???) Performance dates are Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat for two weeks: Nov 28, 29, 30, Dec 1, and Dec 5, 6, 7, 8 at 8 pm.
Hope to see you there.
