Theatre companies/Schools.

I would like to propose an idea to the amateur theatre companies of WA

Drama and Drama Studies Teachers in WA schools would love to be able to take their students to see plays that are either on the syllabus or are considered a supplement or relevant to the syllabus.

At a recent Drama Teachers conference, I suggested that if drama teachers were to use this site and tell the ITA which plays they were studying in a year or over a two year period and which plays they would like to see produced, then it might be possible for some of the amateur companies to include some of these plays in their programming.

I understand that a lot of companies do their programming almost twelve months in advance. However, most of the plays on the syllabus are on there for a period of at least two to three years.

I know that a lot of schools would be very interested in letting students see plays that they are studying. We don't have the luxury of several professional companies being able to cater for this, so why can't we have the amateur theatres doing this?

If companies could continue to put their proposed programmes on here and if teachers could put their wish lists on here, maybe we could work together and have a lot more students experience live theatre.

Playlovers Inc. (Perth) auditions for
Cosi fan Tutte

W.A. Mozart and Lorenzo da Ponte.

Musical Director: David Hardie. Stage Director: Paul Treasure.

No, Playlovers is not doing a musical adaption of Tinto Brass's 1992 soft porn movie of the same name.  Playlovers is actually doing a classical opera. This is a fully staged production with orchestra and importantly sung in English.
