Hello, musical theatre buffs...

I am currently writing my honours dissertation on musical theatre. It is shaping up to be a look at the American popular musical versus the Australian popular musical-- a study of the 'American' and 'Australian' themes that exist in contemporary musical theatre works. I have decided that the Enright/King show THE GOOD FIGHT (performed at WAAPA 2002ish) is a good study for the Aussie musical, but I am having trouble finding a compatible American musical. Does anybody have any suggestions?
