MONTHLY MASTERCLASSES
WHAT ARE THEY? A one-off session each month dealing with a particular aspect of the art and techniques of stage combat.
WHEN? The last Wednesday evening of each month. Dates are:
Feb. 25, March 31, April 28, May 26 & June 30.
WHAT TIME? 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
WHERE? Mt. Lawley
HOW MUCH? $10 per session, payable by the start of the class.
WHO'S TEACHING? Andy Fraser, Fight Director and Stage Combat Instructor, W.A. Representative with the Society of Australian Fight Directors Inc. (SAFDI).
WHAT'S BEING COVERED? The session on Feb. 25 will focus on wounds, kills and working with stage blood. Future sessions are TBA and will be posted well in advance.
WHO CAN DO IT? Anyone who is interested, no previous experience necessary.

INTENSIVE COURSE - WESTERN REGIONAL STAGE COMBAT WORKSHOP
WHAT IS IT? A week-long intensive course in stage combat, culminating in the opportunity to certify with the Society of Australian Fight Directors Inc. All skill levels will be catered for.
WHEN? Sunday April 18 - Sunday April 25 inclusive.
WHAT TIME? 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. each day.
WHERE? Mt. Lawley
HOW MUCH? $550 inclusive. A $50 discount is available for: SAFDI members, MEAA members, ITA members, full-time students, unemployed. One discount claim per person! A $100 deposit will reserve a place on the course with the balance to be paid in full by the commencement of the workshop.
WHO'S TEACHING? Nigel Poulton & Andy Fraser, Fight Directors and Stage Combat Instructors with the Society of Australian Fight Directors Inc.
WHAT"S BEING COVERED? Basic, Intermediate and Advanced skill levels will be taught. Basic covers Unarmed Combat and Rapier & Dagger. Intermediate covers three fighting styles and the Advanced covers five. The specific ones for each course are yet to be finalised, but will be drawn from the following: Unarmed Combat, Smallsword, Rapier & Dagger, Rapier & Cloak, Case of Rapiers, Sword & Buckler, Broadsword, Quarterstaff, Escrima Sticks, Katana.
WHO CAN DO IT? Anyone can register for the Basic as no previous experience is necessary. To register for the Intermediate, you must have already passed the Basic. To register for Advanced, you must have already passed both Basic AND Intermediate.

PADDY CREAN INTERNATIONAL STAGE COMBAT WORKSHOP
WHAT IS IT? A short, non-certification intensive course in stage combat and historical fencing featuring an international teaching line-up. The "Paddy" normally occurs annually in Banff, Canada, but it sometimes travels and is making its way to Oz for 2004. This will be only the third country that the "Paddy" has travelled to following the USA (1994) and UK (1999).
WHEN? July 12 - 17 inclusive. Classes over the full day.
WHERE? University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Toowoomba, QLD.
HOW MUCH? $1000 inclusive.
WHO'S TEACHING? A variety of Australian and International instructors. For an e-poster with further details, please contact Andy Fraser.
WHAT'S BEING COVERED? All aspects of stage combat and historical fencing will be catered for with an emphasis on gaining greater historical accuracy in performance.
WHO CAN DO IT? Anyone is welcome, all skill levels will be catered for.
