Animation Storytelling: Scripting to Storyboarding
Got a great idea for an animation? Learn how to tell animation stories from concept to script, and then to storyboard as a pre-production process. Participants will develop their animation idea into a short 3 minute script, followed by learning storyboarding techniques, scene blocking and timing, as a tool for preparing your script for animation production, in FTIs professional animation studio. This creative and hands-on course is a great opportunity for those wanting to tell stories through animation, and does not require you to have existing drawing skills!
Phil Jeng Kane is a writer and script editor, and recently attended the highly regarded Arista Development workshop in Victoria. Phil currently assists and mentors FTI members within the Production Support department at FTI, and teaches and mentors FTIs animation, screenwriting and video production students in the art of screenwriting, storytelling and humour!
Stephen Grant is an animator who has worked on Quads for Animation Works, and for companies such as Walt Disney Animation Australia and Energy Entertainment in Sydney, and Amblin Entertainment in London. He currently teaches and mentors FTIs fulltime animation students in traditional 2D and Flash animation.
