Auditions for Curtin 1st Year Short (1 Male & 1 Female, 17-28yrs, unpaid)

Hi,
We are first year students of the Curtin University of Technology (Western Australia) Film and Television Course and are currently in pre-production, casting for a 5-minute short film to be shot over six hours on one day at The University. This is upaid work but would be great for your showreel and will be flexible and fun.

The short comedy/drama is about the value of life and love. It follows two insurance firm employees who both live pretty mundane lives. One day they find themselves stuck in the same lift (the lift malfunctions), and although they have little in common and there is at first conflict, they form a passionate relationship after a day trapped with each other.

CHARACTERS / ROLES

Billy (early/mid-twenties), preferably about 170cm to 185cm
You could describe Billy as having an attitude problem, as depressed, as care-free, and emotionally guarded. But ultimately he feels alone and unloved. He especially doesn't take his life seriously.

Suzy (early/mid-twenties), preferably 155cm to 175cm
Suzy is serious and obsessive compulsive. She is slightly ditsy and reads things on face value. She doesn't realise it, but her life is meaningless.

AUDITIONS (if required) WILL HELD ON SUNDAY OCTOBER 9TH AT 3PM. YOU WILL BE CONTACTED AS TO THE SPECIFIC LOCATION. IT WILL BE IN THE PERTH CITY AREA.

FINAL ROLES WILL BE DECIDED BY FRIDAY 14TH. SHOOTING WILL BE EITHER THE WEEKEND OF THE 15TH AND 16TH OR OF THE 22ND OR 23RD, HOWEVER, WE CAN WORK AROUND YOUR SCHEDULE.

IT IS POSSIBLE IN EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES TO ARRANGE A LATER AUDITION GIVEN THE LATENESS OF THIS POST.
