Three parts play, one part revue. A light hearted affair, with a dash of satire, and madcap karaoke thrown in for good measure… the play tells the story of one man’s quest to find love and romance. Paul is depressed about his life, not least, because his life is missing that special someone. Fortunately for Paul, his best friend, and mentor of sorts, Matt offers a helping hand in his quest to find a suitable beau. Our story begins with Matt convincing Paul that to find such a creature he must change more
than a few things about his life ,and so he sets about helping Paul through the changes. Along the way, fate lends a gentle hand when Matt spots a karaoke competition at the local shopping centre. It’s here,in the most unlikeliest place of all, that they meet, Sophie and Janet, rivals in the competition … Karaoke is in the air…. and so
too perhaps, is love….

Philip Barry

Joy Sweeney

After getting a divorce from C.K. Dexter Haven, Tracy Lord prepares to marry again… however, in the days before her wedding, Haven and a reporter, posing as her brother’s friend, show up at her doorstep. From there, Tracy is forced to choose among her past love, her present love and her new love. Amidst the situation comedy, and fast-paced dialogue, Barry explores several contemporary social issues, such as society’s perception of class differences in America and attitudes towards adultery and divorce in the 1930’s.
