Four women….
Mud….
Wrestling….
Need we say more?

Following its hugely successful season in the 2006 Adelaide Fringe Festival, Chopt Logic brings their latest production The Most Massive Woman Wins by Madeleine George to the Bakehouse Theatre, 255 Angas Street, Adelaide, for five nights only from 13 – 17 June. Tickets: $15 adults and $12 concession, for bookings call The Bakehouse Theatre on 82270505.

Set in a mud pool with movement, music and competitive wrestling The Most Massive Woman Wins is a lighthearted and comedic evaluation of the pressures that society, and women themselves, place on the importance of perfection, both physical and emotional.

The audience follows the journey of four women as they wait patiently for liposuction surgery. A guilty mother, a bulimic, a self mutilator, and a post modern feminist with low self esteem, all battle for the title of The Most Massive Woman. This blackly comic piece of physical theatre based on societal perceptions of the female form delighted audiences in the 2006 Adelaide Fringe Festival in February.

Chopt Logic, formed in 2002 by a group of acting graduates from the Centre for the Performing Arts in Adelaide aims to provide opportunities for emerging artists to collaborate with established artists to produce energetic and exciting theatre. This production brings together a cast of five outstanding South Australian female performers: actors Rachael Kirkham and Tamara Lee, dancer and actor Lisa Lanzi and Chopt Logic’s Artistic Director Tina Mitchell, team up with AC ARTS Movement Director Jenn Havelberg to create a thought-provoking, funny and touching physical theatre work.

Who will win the battle to be thin?
