Perth women, Erika, Jeanette and Ronnie all have very different memories of WWII. Erika (Anna Bennetts) grew up in Germany during Hitler’s rise to power. Dutchwoman Jeanette (Nandi Chinna) and her daughter were jailed by the Japanese in Java. Ronnie (Trish Farrell) worked for the Australian Army at a gun battery on Buckland Hill. The war brought these women hardship, loss, liberation and camaraderie. Their stories are funny, tragic, revealing and heart warming.
After a poignant performance during this year’s annual performing arts festival, It’s On at The Don, this powerful play returns to the centre before embarking on a three week tour in Ireland in early 2007.
