If I was having a birthday I wouldnt be inviting PeterG or Meow.. Smiles that would break mirrors on those two..

Birthday was a fun little show. Full credit to those who put it together and produced a very watchable and entertaing piece of theater. The acting was good, especially the prostitute M, who portrayed a great sense of emotion to the audience throughout. The show related to many in the audience and gave a real perception into human interactions and loneliness. The brothel setting not only provided laughs but also managed to create an unexpected warm environment for the interactions occuring within. A little deep (confusing) in parts but overall I was impressed with birthday and will look forward to the next party.

Just a final note to comment on meow's reviews: The 'c' word said in brothel.. well I never?! Back to the fourties for you lady. After all f@*^ dont mean s4!7 no more..

Did someone moderate those reviews off because they disagreed with them? I haven't seen the show or read the script and those reviews weren't particularly well written but that's not on surely?
If you can't stand criticism don't put on plays.

Is that all there is? Well if that's all there is my friend, then let's keep dancing.

I was not commenting on the play, it's script or it's production but rather the apparent censorship of the two reviews.
I am not opposed to the moderation of posts that are offensive, scurrilous, libellous or just plain abusive but did not feel that either of those reviews fitted in those catogories.
I repeat it was the censorship I was opposed to.
If the play is coming to Adelaide I look forward to seeing it and making my own decision as to what I think and who I agree with.
Watch this space.

Well if you think the site sucks why do you come here. If you are coming to give constructive and courteous feedback then feel welcome, if you are just looking to run people down and critisize everything than perhaps you should find another forum more suited to your needs.

there is absolutely nothing I see on this website that insists you give constructive and courteous feedback...
give the feedback you want
if anything is in the categories mentioned by Tony/Alf Smiling above then maybe it can be moderated.
I know that I feel far too much is removed because someone might 'not like it', but is that reason to censor a public internet forum? and arts forum?!

and these reviews were not 'nice', but as noted above- they actually watched the show, and I got the feeling they really didn't like it! this is fair enough.

i think far too many people think this industry is all fun a giggles and support- get a thick skin people, or become accountants or something...

No there is nothing here

No there is nothing here that suggests that, but common courtesy is always a good thing. There is nothing at all wrong with negative feedback, just the way that the feedback was given is all.

Reviews are never all going to be "nice" and it is good that those who reviewed did in fact see the show. The industry is definately not all fun & giggles and I agree that you certainly do need to have a think skin to survive this industry.

Cheers

Richard

What is Susan's Secret?

Michael Parker & Susan Parker

David Heckingbottom

Cider Mill Inn is an old, rustic country inn owned by an endearing elderly couple, Michael and Susan Edwards. At first they appear to be bordering on senility. We quickly learn however that they are very clever con artists, preying on their unsuspecting guests. Using an elaborate check-in form, guests are, in fact, signing a work contract, requiring them to perform various improvements at the inn. Plumbers, tile layers, carpenters and electricians are recruited to do work they never expected. But what is Susan's secret?
