Perth, hold onto your forks as INBETWEEN THEATRE PRODUCTIONS serve up a generous slice of World Premiere theatre with City Of CaKe -in The Blue Room Studio from March 15 - 31.

Enter Honey, Jam and Vegemite – three women thrust together by a terrible twist of fate; just as the City Of CaKe is set to crumble, each of their fathers has vanished!

The unlikely trio embarks on a dangerous adventure to find them and together uncover the underground Muffin Mafia led by Mad Patti, a deranged and apparently unstoppable woman intent on replacing all men with sperm banks.

Feast your eyes as comic books jump to life in this twisted detective mystery set in an un-real reality. Underneath all the crazy cake and condiment references, discover the layer of theme-flavoured cream that forms the basis for all this baking:

Ingredients
1 cup of Comic Books
3 tsp of Father/Daughter Relationships
A pinch of Challenging Ideas On Masculinity
½ cup of Mindless Amusement and Thrilling Entertainment
3 Tbsp of Mesmerizing the Human Eye Whilst Stimulating the Ear
A mouthful of Talent (not diluted)
Some curdled Milk.

City Of CaKe is the directorial debut of Sharney Nougher (Zen's Red Mouth, Wide Open Road) and features the talents of Andrea Jenkins (The Tempest), Natalie Pinnock (Fatale), Natalie Holmwood (Motor City Blues) and Oda Aunan (The Proscenium).

Will the unlikely trio -Honey, Jam and Vegemite- ever see their dads again? Will the people of CaKe get their sweet tooth back? And will the CaKe ever get eaten? Find out this Autumn in City Of CaKe!

The Servant of Two Masters

Written by Carlos Goldini. Re-Written by Nick Enright and Ron Blair.

Carla Moore

Goldoni is made grouse in this colourful and riotous comic masterpiece. Truffaldino doesn’t really think through the problems inherent in having two bosses – especially when they’re unaware of each other’s presence and desperate to get back into each other’s pants. Our hero reckons he’s found a way of increasing his coin and food income on his labour. Or, as he puts it: “two masters, two wages, two dinners – too right!”
