Harbour Theatre, Fremantle’s only and original Community Theatre for over 40 years,
is pleased to present for its second season for 2007 the wickedly funny play:
“Shakers”
Written by John Godber and Jane Thornton and directed by Peter Kirkwood.
In recent years cocktail bars have become very popular in Britain. They attract a clientele that is as distinctive as that of the traditional “Pub”. Shakers is one of these trendy bars that can be seen in every major city and town and provides an ironic means of escape from the gruelling pressures of life. From this pseudo glamorous dream-world emerges a sad reality as observed by the four female long-suffering waitresses.
Directed by award-winning director Peter Kirkwood, “Shakers” provides a fascinating glimpse of the reality that lurks behind the glitz, glam and Pina Coladas. The outstanding cast features Nicola Bond (Mel) and Carmen Miles (Nicki) of Applecross, Sherrilee Walsh (Adele) of Ballajura and Anna Paterson (Carol) of Yokine. They portray over 15 different characters as they communicate female issues with a humorous and observational approach.
“Shakers”, the trendiest cocktail bar in town, where everyone wants to be seen.
MATINEE PERFORMANCE: Sunday 13th May. Performance commences at 2pm – As this is Mother’s Day why not take your Mum out for a good laugh and enjoy some scones, jam and cream at interval included in the ticket price.
