Suddenly, At Home

Francis Durbridge

Brenda Stanley

CHANGE OF DATES, Now commences one week earlier on Friday September 26th

For their September-October season, Melville Theatre Company will produce the thriller, Suddenly, At Home by Francis Durbridge.

to those of an 'older generation' the name of the playwright will immediately bring to mind the series of radio plays, the Paul Temple mysteries. this series ran for years in the UK and 'Paul Temple' is probably the most famous - and certainly long-running detective in radio history!

This play is not so much a 'who-dunnit' as 'will- he- get- away- with- it'! When Glen Howard decides to get rid of his wealthy wife in order to enjoy her money and free himself for another woman he works out  a complicated, but seemingly fool-proof plan which will keep him in the clear but also involve his wife's former lover, detective story writer Sam Blaine. The plan involves the co-operation of his lover! all appears to be going well,,, but as the saying is.. the best laid plan of mice and men.....

This intriguing play has twists and turns on every page and  nothing is as it  seems.come and see if you can work it out before the ending!

Director Brenda Stanley has gathered a strong cast for this intriguing thriller.

Jeff Hansen, Kylie Calwell, Olivia Darby, Lewis Johnson, Sherrilee Walsh, Norman Heath, Felicity May and Stephen Koczian will bring this play to Melville for your enjoyment.

He is handsome, charismatic and stylish…a 'role model' to many young men. His God fearing Greek parents are proud as can be as they are under the impression their son is running a legitimate Book Shop.
