The Admirable Crichton

J.M. Barrie

Jeff Watkins

An English Lord, his three daughters, a 'nephew', clergyman, butler and house maid become stranded on an island in the middle of no-where. Out of their natural environment and separated from the comforts of their familiar lifestyle, they try valiantly to maintain the social heirachy that is so typically British.

Is it natural? On an island? Who truely is, the "Better-man?"

This wonderful comedy, written by the author of Peter Pan, is a examination of the Natural Ordering of Society. It reflects with surprising clarity Barrie's opinion of the age. It is full to brimming with colourful characters and hilarious situations all the while passing on a stern message.

After a quick ticket update, I can say that with the season nearly half booked already (and still a week of last minute bookings left) it is going to be first-in-best-dressed! There are still some good seats left for the opening Sat and Friday, with the two Thursday with room to spare. However the last two Fridays are filling to near capacity fast.

Please note that while it is not on the main poster, we are holding a special Matinee performance on the 6th of december (from 2pm) to coincide with the Guildford Heritage Festival. Bookings available through the Visitor's Centre also.

LAST CHANCE

While there are still good seats available, this could be your last chance to book for this show. It will be great fun and I say that honestly.

Yes I am the director and am biased (a little) but I am also finding myself, after having seen the show three days a week, for the past two months, still enjoying the performances. Even last night, during a Tech Rehearsal, there were really wonderful, funny, touching and hilarious moments, but maybe I am just a sentimental bloke.

Anyway, how cares. The show really is good and it opens THIS FRIDAY!!!

Go see it.
