Bertolt Brecht

Leah Mercer

The Threepenny Opera satires the excesses of capitalism, a world shaped by greed, corruption and celebrity gangsters like Mac the Knife, where everyone's looking out for themselves.

This new Hayman Theatre production is set in the not-too-distant future against the coronation of a young King William. It's a world where gender has slipped into irrelevance, a world turned upside down by greed.
The have-lots want to be as cool as the have-nots and the have-nots just want to have more.
