A Perth International Arts Festival Event.

Joan Didion’s stage adaptation of her own best-selling, Pulitzer prize-nominated memoir is an exquisite chronicle of the year she spent imagining her husband’s return after she witnessed him die suddenly of a heart attack.

Two leading lights of the Australian theatre, Helen Morse and Iain Grandage (along with his cello) will grace our stage to bring this highly moving memoir to life. Helen Morse has received national acclaim for her work, which shares Joan Didion’s searing quest for truth and Iain Grandage has been celebrated nationally and internationally for his lyrical compositions for theatre.

This one woman play, rich with pathos, exposes the beauty and terror that we all find in the transience of life, and celebrates the power of the imagination to help us survive.
