“ELSIE AND NORM’S MACBETH”
Presented by Harbour Theatre for the first of 5 exciting seasons for 2009.
Written by John Christopher ‐ Wood
Directed by SUSAN LYNCH

Following  the  success  of  the  highly  acclaimed  “Office  Hours”,  Susan  Lynch  who  has  been
nominated for Best Supporting Actress and Best Director in the 2009 Finley Awards, returns to
Harbour  Theatre  directing  the  wickedly  irreverent  contemporary  comic  send  up  of
Shakespeare’s great play, ELSIE AND NORM’S MACBETH written by John Christopher‐Wood.

Fed up with playing Trivial Pursuit and watching re‐runs of Dynasty and Murder She Wrote,
Yorkshire couple Elsie and Norm decide to go for a bit of culture and stage some Shakespeare in
their living room.  Of course, it needs a bit of re‐writing to liven it up, and it’s a bit of a push with
just the two of them playing all those characters – but it’s all worth it for one of the greatest
pieces of literature “wot has ever been wrote in the English language!”

“It is a great pleasure to be back at Harbour again and with such talented actors playing these
demanding roles” says director Susan Lynch. “ To be able to switch in and out of up to 14
characters as well as change their accents and still remain convincing is challenging however,
these actors excel”

Featuring the enormous talents of both Ann Speicher from Mosman Park as Elsie and Michael
Dornan from Beaconsfield as Norm this is hilarious evening of irreverent humour, presented by
Harbour Theatre, Fremantle’s only and original community theatre since 1963.

There will be a matinee on Sunday 22nd February commencing at 2.00pm.
