Oliver! The Musical

Lionel Bart

Cat Baxter

Oliver Twist is a young boy who lives in a workhouse with other orphaned boys. When Oliver disrupts a meal by asking for more, he is sold to a local undertaker and his family. They treat Oliver horribly and make him sleep under the coffins. Oliver escapes and runs off to Paddington Green, where he quickly befriends another young boy, the Artful Dodger. Dodger takes him to his home, an academy for orphans who learn how to be pick-pockets run by a kind, yet slightly sinister, old gentleman named Fagin.

I saw the show last night.(Sat 25th April) I thought the young actor playing Oliver really captured the true spirit of the boy. The actor who played Fagin was a delight to watch on stage.

The props were amazing and huge set to turn around so backstage crew worked well to achieve this task.

Well done to the director with such a young cast who you managed to keep on track.

I must agree saw the Oliver production today Sunday Matinee Show

The show started a little late today due to a ticketing problem i believe, however it was worth the wait. The house was almost a sell out.

The young actor playing Oliver think was Taylor (from memory )was a delight to watch. Such an expressive actor. A future star of the stage.

Fagin was a great character in the show, along with Bill Sykes and his side kick Bullseye (who i must say got a huge round of applause at the end).

Very young cast of children in pickpocket scene who seemed to enjoy their time on the stage.

The whole production was a well rounded performance and a credit to the direction of director.
