Aole T Miller

Curtin’s Hayman Theatre is excited to present their first production of 2009, a bristling version of "Romeo & Juliet" directed by New York director Aole T. Miller who is currently artist-in-residence at Curtin. Miller's unique approach to classic texts and ensemble training which has previously only been available at his Brooklyn studio and in international training workshops held in Bali, generates a unique and visceral night at the theatre.

This production of "Romeo & Juliet" has been reimagined in a contemporary Perth setting in which the divided community is represented through the Catholic Montagues and the Muslim Capulets. In this way the production explores and challenges the religious and racial divisions that face many young Australians.

Performed in the intimate Upstairs Theatre at Curtin, tickets for this production will sell quickly so book now to avoid disappointment.
