In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the classic, The Sleeping Beauty, the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre are proud to bring you a spectacular live January holiday production of this popular tale from the Prince Street Players, by arrangement with Hal Leonard Australia.
A sleeping princess, a spellbound prince and more fairies than you can shake a wand at are all part of this magical community production which stars well known Western Australian actors Rebecca Boddy as Princess Melisande ( the Sleeping Beauty), Dylan Brown as the enchanted faun who turns into the handsome prince with Lisa Wilkinson as the Queen, Peter Carr as the King as well as other prominent local actors such as Kim Godleman, Jennifer Godleman & Paul Treasure.
A beautiful Princess is born in a magic kingdom and her christening is celebrated amongst her family, loved ones and her special aunts, the three good fairies. However the evil fairy, the Trollarina, is not invited to the christening and angrily swears to take revenge on the royal family by sending the beautiful Princess into an everlasting sleep. However, little does she realize that more than one spell is about to be broken by the kiss of the enchanted Faun.
