They say that when a man gives up hope, the devil walks at his side.
So begins this story.
A soldier marched through a dark wood, and he did not march alone...
This vivid re-imagining of a Brothers Grimm classic uses comedy and live music to tell the haunting tale of a man who has lost everything
to war: his family and friends, his youth, and innocence.
When the devil wraps him in bearskin, fills his pockets with gold and makes a treacherous wager, so begins his seven year journey of dirt
and riches, with a catchy tune, and violent streak, a has-been and a drunken forest along the way.
The is the first collaboration between The Duck House (The Swallow-Tailed Coat, The Oresteia) and The Wet Weather Ensemble (A Reptile Dreamed).
