After 766 performances witnessed by 1.2 million Australians, followed by 12 months on Broadway and a return season in Australia playing to 10,000 seat arenas, The Boy from Oz is finally coming to Tasmania!!

Appropriately billed as "the musical of a lifetime", the story focuses on the extraordinary life of Peter Allen, from his humble beginnings growing up in an Australian bush town to his meteoric rise to fame as an international star.

Featuring elaborate sets, dazzling costumes and unforgettable songs like Don’t Cry Out Loud, I Honestly Love You, I Still Call Australia Home and I Go to Rio, the Tasmanian Premiere Season of The Boy from Oz will be presented in Northern Tasmania's most prestigious venue, the Princess Theatre, for 7 performances only.

Produced by the same team which presented The Sound of Music last October to both critical and public acclaim, Encore Theatre Company Inc. is Launceston’s newest not-for-profit community theatre group run entirely by a dedicated team of volunteers.
