The Phoenix Theatre and A lad in sane productions combine to bring you what promises to be the most fun you'll have in a theatre this Christmas.
The Karaoke Twist...the story...
Paul is depressed with his life. His mate Matt is depressed at having to suffer Paul’s endless tales of woe. Refusing to spend another Christmas with his miserable self pitying friend, Matt suggests that all Paul needs to overcome his depression is to find a girlfriend. Being a true mate, he offers to assist Paul in finding a suitable beau. Paul reluctantly accepts the offer, and the two set out on their mission…fate lends a gentle hand, when Matt spots a karaoke competition (with a twist) at the local shopping centre. It’s here that they meet Sophie and Janet, rivals in the competition….karaoke is in the air…and so too perhaps... love….

Goldoni is made grouse in this colourful and riotous comic masterpiece. Truffaldino doesn’t really think through the problems inherent in having two bosses – especially when they’re unaware of each other’s presence and desperate to get back into each other’s pants. Our hero reckons he’s found a way of increasing his coin and food income on his labour. Or, as he puts it: “two masters, two wages, two dinners – too right!”
