A Senior Youth Theatre Production

Darlington Theatre’s first production for 2009 will be a two-act Musical Play, Tutankhamun, written specifically for the Senior Youth Theatre.

The discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb created enormous interest all over the world with Egyptology becoming a fascinating subject for many people.

With a totally Egyptian theme the play offers a possible scenario for the death of the Boy King and the mystery that surrounded the event. It brings to life some of the key historical figures in the young Pharaoh’s life and also includes some of the Egyptian Gods, such as Isis, Horus, Osiris, Seth and Anubis.

We are proud to have Musical Director Bill Higgins and Choreographer Susan Jane with us for this exciting production. Their expertise will present a talented cast and full supporting chorus of the “People of Egypt”.

Tutankhamun is an exciting and innovative play from local scriptwriter LaVerne Kirton.

Bookings Open: 11th January 2009
