"We Happy Few"

A comedy-drama inspired by the true World War 2 history of the Osiris Players. The play is about the adventures of a small group of women who come together to form a 'girls only' theatre company to take the plays of Shakespeare around cultural starved Britain. These hopelessly mismatched individuals from entirely different social backgrounds embark on a crazy journey. Together and separately they are forced to discover what life is like without men- something which many women had to cope with in those times- and eventually how they must survive when they have only each other.

Bits of Shakespeare, pantomime, song & dance. comedy, inciteful wit and scenes of honest drama. An uplifting, touching and often hilarious story of overcoming adversity with dogged determination and a passion for theatre.

Featuring Kyla Jones, Rosemary Longhurst,Gail Lusted, Olivia Bacon, Ellen O'connor, Clare Wilson, Bonnie Coyle (who is also Musical Director) Francesca Meehan,Andy Harmsen,Les Lee,Andrew Bremner, Leigh Parlour, Nicola Sarah.

come and enjoy a piece of nostalgia for the older folk who remember the War, and an insight on life as it was endured then, for the young set!
