National One-Act Playwriting Competition

Open to all playwrights from across Australia and overseas

3 experienced Directors are chosen from our pool of regular directors

 

The National One-Act Playwriting Competition 2013

Entries are now being called for
the 2013 National One-Act
Playwriting Competition.

Now in it's 34th year, the Noosa Arts
Theatre National One-Act Playwriting Competition attracts entries from
playwrights right throughout Australia, NZ and the USA,
and offers a Total Prize pool
of $6,000
, and a Publishing Contract.

This playwriting competition offers a
unique opportunity for the winning Playwrights to see their new work
performed on stage at Noosa Arts One-Act Play Festival, for a 7
performance season over 2 weeks each June, and the plays are showcased as part of the 10 day Noosa Longweekend Cultural Festival.

The winner of Best Play will take home a prize of $3000.

The winner of the ‘Audience Choice
Award', with prize money
(donated by the family of the late Nancy
Cato)
plus a publishing contract for their winning script, with Maverick Musicals & Plays.  

Presentations of Awards take place on the final night.

The Competition is proudly supported by Macquarie Private Wealth, and Maverick Musicals & Plays.
