The Miracle Worker
By William Gibson | Directed by Simon James

The Stirling Players presents its second production of the year, William Gibson's emotional and touching The Miracle Worker.

In Tuscumbia, Alabama an illness renders infant Helen Keller blind, deaf, and consequently mute. Pitied and badly spoiled by her parents, she learns no discipline and grows into a wild, raging creature by the age of six. Desperate, the Keller’s hire Anne Sullivan to serve as a governess and teacher for their young daughter.

The Miracle Worker draws heavily from letters by Anne Sullivan, as well as Helen Keller's autobiography; and all of the plays events are derived from factual events woven together through Gibson's emotional and careful depiction.

The Miracle Worker plays at Stirling Theatre, Morris Pace, Innaloo over 6 – 8, 12 – 15, and 19 – 21 May 2011. All shows begin at 8pm, except Sunday matinees at 2pm.

Bookings can be made from Monday 4 April 2011 through Morris News 9440 1040. Tickets are $18 full, $16 concession and $12 member, with discounted group bookings available through Morris News.
