A gentle comedy to end the year!

Amended dates: please check the calendar. This production will now commence on THURSDAY  DECEMBER 2nd and play for two weeks only. Matinee on Sunday December 5 at 2 pm

Sara, a Perth Actress is about to open in a new play when , in the early hours of one morning, two weeks before opening night she receives a call from sister Nan in Scotland advising that she has secured a good deal and is coming to Australia to visit Sara . The two sisters have not seen each other for many years. Sara is in two minds about ths visit- although delighted at the prospect of seeing Nan she is apprehensive about the timing!

However when Nan does arrive the two are happily re-united and the first act is the story of their lives, loves, disappointments and problems, told with wry humour and compassion.

however all is not plain sailing- Barry, the stage Manager and Sara's current lover arrives with the news that the leading man has had an accident and is unable to continue. His replacement turns out to be Greg, Sara's one-time lover and father of the baby girl she gave  up for adoption 17 years earlier!

If this sounds maudlin- it's anything but! The story unfolds with much humour and witty dialogue when Greg attempts to use his charm to re-kindle the romance with Sara!

How does it turn out? Happily, so come long and enjoy WA playwright Alice Dale's warm, witty comedy.

Featuring Mellissa McBride as Sara, Laura Liddle  as Nan (with the most atteactive genuine Scots accent) Craig Menner as Barry and John Forde as Greg this is a gentle and enjoyable end to Melville's year.

What is Susan's Secret?

Michael Parker & Susan Parker

David Heckingbottom

Cider Mill Inn is an old, rustic country inn owned by an endearing elderly couple, Michael and Susan Edwards. At first they appear to be bordering on senility. We quickly learn however that they are very clever con artists, preying on their unsuspecting guests. Using an elaborate check-in form, guests are, in fact, signing a work contract, requiring them to perform various improvements at the inn. Plumbers, tile layers, carpenters and electricians are recruited to do work they never expected. But what is Susan's secret?
